What We Believe

SALVATION:

  • We believe that salvation is God’s gift. We believe that we are saved by grace through faith in the finished work of redemption achieved by Christ through His death, burial, and resurrection. Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8, 9; John 14:6 1:12; Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26; Romans 5:1.

  • We believe that Jesus Christ shed His blood for the remission of sins, the complete cleansing of the justified believer from all indwelling sin. (John 17:17; Acts 26:18; Rom. 6:6; I Thess. 5:23; Heb. 13:12; I John 7-9, Rom 3:35; Eph. 2:1-10; I John 3:5-10).

  • We believe and teach the doctrine of justification by faith through the blood of Jesus Christ (Rom. 3:24-25; Rom. 5:6-9; Eph. 1:7; Col. 1:14).

  • We believe that sanctification is an instantaneous work of grace, obtainable by faith on the part of the fully justified believer (Exodus 31:13; St. Luke 24:50-51; Hebrew 10:9-14).

THE BIBLE:

  • The Bible is the written, inspired, infallible, and inerrant Word of God and is the final authority for faith and life. The sixty-six books of the Old and New Testament are the complete and divine revelation of God to man. 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20,21; 2 Timothy 1:13; Psalm 119:105, 160, 12:6; Proverbs 30:5.

GOD:

  • We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Genesis 1:1, 26, 27, 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Deut. 6:4; John 14:10, 26.

JESUS CHRIST:

  • We believe in the deity and humanity of Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through his shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, in His present rule as Head of the Church and in His personal return in power and glory. (Isa. 7:14; 9:6; Luke 1:35; John 1:1-2, 14; 2 Cor. 5:19-21; Gal. 4:4-5; Phil. 2:5-8 Acts 2:18-36; Rom. 3:24- 25; 1 Pet. 2:24; Eph. 1:7; 1 Peter 1:3-5 Acts 1:9-10; Heb. 9:24; 7:25; Rom. 8:34; 1 John 2:1- 2. II Cor 15:3-4; Luke 24:51; Mark 16:19; Heb. 1:3).

  • The name of Jesus and the blood of Jesus has authority in heaven, on earth and in hell.  (Eph. 1:7; Phil 2:10)

THE HOLY SPIRIT:

  • We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by who’s indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. We believe the Holy Spirit assists Christians in understanding spiritual truth and gives every believer a spiritual gift when they are saved. Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13, 14:16, 17; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16; Ephesians 1:13; Galatians 5:25.

  • We believe that the Pentecostal baptism of the Holy Ghost and Power is obtainable through faith in the life of a wholly sanctified believer. We believe the initial evidence of this reception is speaking with other tongues as the spirit gives utterance (Act 1:5; Acts 2:1-4; Acts 8:7; Acts 8:14-17; Acts 10:44-46 and 19:6).

THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST:

  • The rapture will occur and the dead in Christ will rise first, the saints who are alive will be caught up to meet Him in the air. We love and wait for his appearing. (1 Thess. 4:15-18, Titus 2:13; 11 Peter 3:1-14; Matt. 24:20-44; Matt. 24:20-44).

  • Water baptism is the outward expression of ones’ new birth in Christ.  We baptize in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Matt 18:29).

  • There is life after death, in heaven or hell. Eternal distinction is predetermined based on one’s decision to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. (Luke 16:19-31).

HEAVEN & HELL

  • We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence. John 3:16; John 14:17; Romans 6:23; Romans 8: 17-18; Revelation 20:15; 1 Cor. 2:7-9.

  • We believe that all those who die in God’s grace are assured eternal salvation through Jesus Christ. John 10:29; 2 Timothy 1:12; Hebrews 7:25, 10:10, 14; 1 Peter 1:3-5.

RELATIONSHIPS AND IDENTITY:

  • We believe that marriage is the exclusive, covenant relationship between one man and one woman and that God intends sexual intimacy to only occur between a man and a woman joined in marriage. We believe that marriage is symbolic of the mysterious union between Christ and the church. We also believe that God creates each person with an immutable biological sex—male or female—and that these two distinct, complementary sexes together reflect the image and nature of God. Gen.1:26-27; Gen 2:24; Gen. 19:5, 13 Gen. 26:8-9; Lev. 18:1-30; Rom. 1: 26-29; I Cor. 5:1; 6:9; Ephesians 5:23-32; 1 Thess. 4:1-8; Heb. 13:4.

SANTITY OF LIFE

  • We believe that God endows all human life with inherent dignity at every stage of development and that human life should be respected from conception to natural death. Further, because we are created in the image of God, we believe that every person must be afforded compassion, kindness, and respect. We also believe that the greatest commandments are (1) to love God and (2) to love our neighbors as ourselves. Therefore, we believe that we should demonstrate love toward all people. Job 3:16: Ps. 51:5; Ps. 139:14-16; Matthew 22:36-40; Mark 12:28-31; Luke 1:44; Luke 6:31.
